FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Is hotel pickup offered?

A: Hotel pickup is not offered – Here’s why: Generally speaking, hotel pickup can include taking you to 15-20 different hotels before taking you to the tour start location. Metro Atlanta is huge. From most hotels you can get door-to-door service via a taxi, Uber or Marta to Peachtree Center in less than 15 minutes. We encourage you to arrive at the pickup point a minimum of 20 minutes before departure.

Q: Is this a double decker bus tour similar to those in NYC?

A: No. Our tour is provided on a smaller shuttle bus for a more intimate experience. We visit several neighborhoods outside of Downtown Atlanta with lots of trees canopy and we would not want anyone on the top level of the bus to get hit by atree. Atlanta has the most trees of any city in the US. Atlanta is warm/hot from April - September, we generally receive lots of rain and it gets cold here sometimes in the winter so its best to have a shuttle bus for this tour. Double decker tours are generally great in compact cities such as NYC or Chicago. Atlanta is more spread out and shuttle bus is more appropriate here.

Q: Why is this tour 5 hours?

A: We want you to see as much of our wonderful city as you can in 5 hours so we go to as many places as we can within those 5 hours. After the tour is over you then can go back to visit the sites you liked the most on your own.

Q: Where do we meet? How do I get to the Mall at Peachtree Center? Where should I park?

A: To get to us from Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, the Perimeter, the airport, etc you can take Marta to Peachtree Center Marta Station. Once you exit the subway, follow the signs to Peachtree Center. Meet the group leader in a yellow Atlanta Sightseeing Bus Tour t-shirt in the seating area at the "North "Food Court in front of the Chick-Fil-A. PAID Parking is also available behind The Mall at Peachtree Center between Peachtree Center Ave NE and Courtland St NE. The Mall at Peachtree Center is located at 231 Peachtree St NE in Downtown Atlanta. Parking generally cost between $8 - $12.

Q: How much do the attractions on this tour cost?

A: We only stop at the free attractions such as the MLK Memorial Site, the Beltline and the CNN Center. The CNN Center stop is for lunch. We do not "tour" the CNN Center.

Q: Do we go inside the Ga Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, etc?

A: No but we do pass and give you information on them.

Q: Where does the Daily Tour begin and end?

A: The Mall at Peachtree Center (231 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303) is located in Downtown Atlanta inside the Peachtree Center Complex above the Peachtree Center MARTA Station. The "mall" is inside the building so do not look for the typical "suburban" mall.

Q: Is this tour wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes we are wheelchair accessible.

Q: Do we get out of the shuttle at every attraction?

A: No. We only get out of the shuttle at MLK Memorial Site, the Beltline and the CNN Center.

Q: How much walking is involved?

A:  We walk about 20 mins on the Beltline and we walk around the MLK Memorial Site for about 45 mins. Pregnant women, elderly persons and people who have medical concerns or trouble getting around should carefully consider their ability to travel this distance with the group. Additionally, some children under 3 may find the length of the walk challenging. We may not walk the Beltline during inclement weather. Wear your walking shoes please. You may stay on the bus if you have trouble walking.

Q: Is a reservation required for this tour?

A: Reservation is required for this tour. To place your reservation please visit www.atlsightseeingtours.net.

Q: What is the age limit for kids pricing?

A: Adult: $69
Children 3 – 12: $59

This tour is for ages 3 and up.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Comfortable, laid-back attire is recommended. We also recommend you wearing a hat during the summer and a jacket in the winter. Consider wearing comfortable walking shoes for the walking portion of the tour.

Q: Can you promise an exact return time?

A: Due to the potential for unforeseen traffic delays, road construction, traffic accidents, etc within the city, we cannot guarantee an exact return time. However, every attempt is made to remain on schedule and to return you back to Downtown Atlanta at the planned time. Should you have a special concern regarding your return time, please advise us upon making your reservation and reiterate this need with your driver on the day of the tour.

Q: What will happen if it rain?

A: The Atlanta City Tour is offered rain or shine. Tours are only canceled in the event of extreme weather conditions and every attempt will be made to contact you in advance if a tour is canceled. The buses are covered, making tours in the rain possible and unlikely canceled. Umbrellas are suggested for walking in the rain from the bus to the attractions.

Q: How much time do you spend at each attraction?

A: As you can expect, some landmarks are more time-consuming than others. With this in mind, there is no set time for each attraction. Our Tour Guides are trained to watch how the tour group progresses at each landmark and adjust the tour accordingly. Keep in mind; we still have a lot of sightseeing to do in 5 hours, so we do like to keep the tour moving.

Q: What types of vehicles are used?

A: We use a 26 passenger shuttle with large windows and plenty of space with reclining seats. Depending on demand and/or our service schedule, we reserve the right to substitute vehicles.

Q: What additional expenses should we expect?

A: You should plan on paying for lunch at the CNN Center if you are hungry.

Q: Will I receive my tickets in the mail?

A: No. We employ an easy-to-use ticketless reservation system. Your name is your tour ticket. Thus, there is no reason to deal with the hassles of tickets and mail.

Q: How do I book my Atlanta Sightseeing Bus Tour?

A: Online at www.atlsightseeingtours.net or call (1-800-279-9160).

Q: Are tips included?

A: No. Your Driver and Tour Guide are service personnel similar to waiters in restaurants. If you received superior service, your driver and Tour Guide will greatly be thankful for any gratuities you give them. A good rule of thumb is 15%.
